Services : 3D Models : H1N1

Given the current pandemic, our 3D model of the surface features of a human H1N1 influenza virus is proving particularly popular. The surface features on this model are correctly scaled (x 1 million), and the detailed 220,000-vertex geometry is perfect for extreme close-ups. Click on the images below to see some examples of how it looks and how it can be used. These samples are watermarked and cannot be used for any commercial purpose, including resale or print publications, though you may use them for personal projects. Contact us for high-res imagery, or see the stock footage we have on sale below. Of course the virus isn't really purple and green - we've applied false electron-microscope colors so the different parts stand out, and within the 3D model you can of course change them however you wish.

If you're wondering how big the H1N1 virus actually is, we've blogged about it.

Rendered stock images - from our agency partners

Many of you will not want to buy the 3D model and render images yourself, as of course that requires suitable 3D graphics software and skill in using it. So we've created some rendered images that you can buy in high resolution JPEG format from our partner agencies, under their standard royalty-free licenses. Click the links to purchase - various sizes are available up to the maximums shown here.

3D model specification - H1N1 influenza virus

* In reality, H1N1 is about 120nm wide - but 3D models can't be that small so we've scaled it by a million.
