Blog: Amazon pricing for EU customers
Amazon has announced it will apply a surcharge to all sales of non-EU products to EU customers. As our books are manufactured in the UK this will affect any purchases with EU shipping destinations.
Amazon's statement is as follows:
From 1 July 2026, the current duty exemption for low-value imports will be eliminated. For goods imported in a shipment with a value of €150 or less, a €3 customs duty, mandated under EU law, will apply per item/tariff line in the customs declaration.
As a UK-based supplier, we set our prices in GBP for the .co.uk marketplace, and Amazon sets prices for 'export' sales, including to the EU. In effect, Amazon UK buys from us, then sells to Amazon in the destination country, who finally sells to the customer. We do not set EU pricing or duty fees.
Note that this does not apply for shipments over €150.00 in total value, for example if you ordered several books, or other products at the same time, you can bypass the rule.
This is a consumer-based policy, it does not affect business-to-business purchases. For more information see Regulation (EU) 2026/382.
